Cops: Couple Found Dead In Downers Grove 'Murder-Suicide'
DOWNERS GROVE (CBS) -- A married couple were found stabbed to death Friday in their west suburban home in what police believe was a murder-suicide.
Officers conducting a well-being check at a home in the 6200 block of Park Avenue discovered the man and woman dead in the home with stab wounds, a statement from Downers Grove police Lt. Mike Willison said.
They were identified as Thomas F. Smith, 41; and his wife, Jennifer M. Smith, 39, police said.
It appears Thomas Smith killed his wife and then committed suicide, police said.
The couple's 11-year-old daughter was not home at the time and is staying with relatives.
Downers Grove police continue to investigate.
