McBride Out For Season; Bushrod Leaves Practice

(CBS) Just two days into padded practices and the Bears are already suffering crucial injuries.

Defensive end Turk McBride was lost for the season Monday with a ruptured Achilles tendon. Offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod, who signed a five-year deal hours into free agency, left practice with a mild calf strain.

Jonathan Scott filled in for Bushrod at left tackle.

McBride, 28, signed a one-year contract with the team after spending the previous two seasons with the Saints. The loss of McBride is especially damaging for the Bears, as defensive lineman Sedrick Ellis announced his decision to retire last week.

Wide receiver Brandon Marshall also missed practice to rest his hip. Defensive end Chetachi Ozougwu was out with a mild hamstring injury.
