Man Shot And Killed In West Englewood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot and killed in the West Englewood neighborhood Monday night, just two blocks away from the scene of another homicide earlier in the day.

L'Terrick Benion, 23, was shot to death about 8:50 p.m. in the 1800 block of West Garfield Boulevard, authorities said. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office gave a different address, the 1800 block of West 55th Street, as a location for the shooting.

He was outside his home when two shooters approached on foot, pulled out handguns and opened fire, authorities said.

Benion was shot multiple times in the back as he tried to run away and was pronounced dead on the scene, authorities said.

Earlier in the day, 28-year-old Cauirece Graham was shot and killed in the 2000 block of West Garfield Boulevard.

Area South detectives are investigating.
