(CBS) To fill the roster spot of Jake Peavy, who was traded to the Red Sox on Tuesday, the White Sox have called up outfielder Jordan Danks.

Danks’ call up is multifaceted – he brings the team’s active roster to 25 players, and can fill in for Alex Rios if the veteran outfielder is traded or forced to miss time with a minor foot injury suffered Tuesday night.

Danks, 26, has appeared in 32 games (nine starts) with the White Sox this season, hitting .135 (5-37) with one home run and two RBIs.
