Man Robs Beach Park Convenience Store At Gunpoint
BEACH PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- A north suburban convenience store was robbed at gunpoint early Sunday, a crime police say may be related to other robberies in the area.
A man entered the 7-Eleven and gas station in the 37000 block of Green Bay Road in Beach Park about 8:30 p.m. Sunday and demanded money at gunpoint, according to a statement from the Lake County Sheriff's office.
The man got away with about $400 in cash, fleeing northbound on foot, police said. Nobody was injured.
The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10, 180-pound black man in his 20s, police said. He was clean shaven with a skinny face and "screwed up" front teeth. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black or gray pants, and gloves.
The incident may be related to other armed robberies in the area, police said.
