CHICAGO (STMW) – A man was killed Tuesday morning in a drive-by shooting near his home in the South Shore neighborhood.
A 34-year-old man was in a parking lot near 74th Street and Colfax Avenue with another person at 9:38 a.m. when a light-colored SUV drove by and a person inside fired shots, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
Eric Chism, who lived at a different address in the 7400 block of South Colfax Avenue, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he died about an hour later, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The man was shot in the back and left leg, and had gang affiliations, Mirabelli said.
