Extra-Alarm Fire Burns Gage Park Stores
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A firefighter was injured in an extra-alarm fire that damaged three storefronts in the Southwest Side Gage Park neighborhood Saturday morning.
The 2-11 alarm fire started just after 7 a.m. in the 5400 block of South Kedzie Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs.
A firefighter was injured and taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Fire Media Affairs said.
More than 100 firefighters responded to the fire that damaged several storefronts in the one-story building, Fire Media Affairs said.
The 2-11 alarm was struck out at 7:20 a.m. and firefighters continued to monitor hot spots.
