Report: Bears Release DE Anderson

(CBS) -- The Bears have released defensive end Jamaal Anderson, according to a report by ESPN.

The Bears signed Anderson in July after the retirement of DT Sedrick Ellis.

The 6-6, 280-pound Anderson started 48 of 77 games in six seasons with the Falcons, Colts and Bengals after he was selected by Atlanta in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft.

The 27-year-old Anderson recorded 132 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 10 pass break ups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery during his NFL career.
