CHICAGO (STMW) – A 29-year-old Glenview man was killed early Tuesday when he crashed a motorcycle on the Edens Expressway, authorities said.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of the expressway (I-94) near Foster Avenue, on Chicago’s Northwest Side, about 1:30 a.m., according to Illinois State Police.

Willie Carrington, of the 00 to 100 block of Harlem Avenue in the north suburb, died at the scene, according to state police.

A trooper said the cause of the crash appeared to be reckless riding.

Northbound lanes of the expressway near Foster were closed at 2:30 a.m. The lanes were open to travel as of 6 a.m.

State police are investigating.
