(CBS) — The Chicago Bears have claimed defensive end David Bass off waivers from the Oakland Raiders. Bass was drafted in the seventh round of the 2013 draft be Oakland. The defensive end had 40 1/2 career sacks while playing at Missouri Western in Division II.

Defensive end Cheta Ozougwu was waived to make room on the roster.

The Bears also announced seven players have been signed to the practice squad: Quarterback Jerrod Johnson, tight end Fendi Onobun, running back Harvey Unga, cornerback Demntre Hurst, defensive lineman Aston Whiteside, linebacker Jerry Franklin and wide receiver Ricardo Lockette.
