Child OK After Being Hit By Bat At Cubs Game
(CBS) An unidentified child is OK after he was hit by Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton's bat during in the top of the sixth inning in today's Cubs-Marlins game at Wrigley Field.
While swinging at a pitch from Cubs starter Jeff Samardzija, Stanton lost his grip and sent his wooden bat flying into the stands.
The bat then hit a boy, who was rushed out of his seat by medical personnel.
The child later returned to the game, suffering only a bruised elbow.
The boy's father also suffered a bruised elbow after trying to shield his son from the wayward bat.
