(CBS) An unidentified child is OK after he was hit by Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton’s bat during in the top of the sixth inning in today’s Cubs-Marlins game at Wrigley Field.

While swinging at a pitch from Cubs starter Jeff Samardzija, Stanton lost his grip and sent his wooden bat flying into the stands.

The bat then hit a boy, who was rushed out of his seat by medical personnel.

The child later returned to the game, suffering only a bruised elbow.

The boy’s father also suffered a bruised elbow after trying to shield his son from the wayward bat.
