Jet Skier Reunited With Brother After He Went Missing On Lake

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A male Jet Skier who went missing several miles off the shore of Lake Michigan Saturday afternoon was found safe, police said.

The missing male and his brother each embarked from the 31st Street Harbor on their own personal watercraft about 2:40 p.m., with the intention of shooting photos once they traveled several miles out, police said.

After motoring about three miles out, the two decided to head back in. At some point the missing Jet Skier's brother called the U.S. Coast Guard because he could not locate his brother, police said.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit was dispatched, and the missing Jet Skier was eventually reunited with his brother.

Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said he did not know if the man was rescued, or if he turned up on his own.
