Man Charged In Austin Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was charged with attempted murder after he allegedly shot a man in the Austin neighborhood last month.

Marcus Woods, 27, was arrested and charged Saturday for a shooting in the 500 block of North Pine Avenue on Aug. 20.

He shot a 47-year-old man in the back about 7:40 p.m., police said.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition after the shooting, police said.

Woods, of the 500 block of North Pine Avenue, was charged with one count of attempted murder, police said.

Authorities did not indicate what Woods' motive may have been.
