CHICAGO (STMW) — A man is dead and another wounded after a drive-by shooting Wednesday night in the South Deering neighborhood on the South Side.
The two men were walking in the 10200 block of South Oglesby Avenue at 10:53 p.m. when a vehicle approached and opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.
Antonio Calhoun, 19, of the 1400 block of East 68th St., was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:10 p.m. after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Another man was shot in the leg and taken in “stable” condition to Advocate Trinity Hospital, Gaines said.
Area South detectives are investigating.
