Man Charged With Raping Drugged Woman

VALPARAISO, Ind. (STMW) -- A Valparaiso man accused of raping a drugged house guest in April faces up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted in a Dec. 16 trial.

Steven D. Camp, 29, has been charged with Class B felony rape, Class B felony criminal deviate conduct and Class D felony sexual battery and is being held in Porter County Jail on $50,000 bail bond.

Camp first fondled then raped the alleged victim after she took a Xanax she purchased illegally and fell asleep on the couch while her husband and Camp's girlfriend ate in the kitchen, court documents state.

The woman told police she kept blacking out but recalled increased sexual activity leading to the rape and biting Camp.

Police matched Camp's DNA to bodily fluids on her underwear using a sample taken from Camp with a warrant.
