Cops: 16-year-Old In Jeep Caught Speeding At 100 mph

HUNTLEY, Ill. (STMW) -- A 16-year-old Huntley boy was charged with reckless driving for allegedly speeding at 100 miles per hour after high chool classes were dismissed Wednesday afternoon.

The teen was also charged with speeding more than 40 mph over the limit after a McHenry County sheriff's deputy allegedly observed him driving his Jeep 100 mph in a 55-mph zone on Coyne Station Road after Huntley High School dismissed.

The youth was released to his parents on $2,000 bail pending a court hearing.

Undersheriff Andrew Zinke said the sheriff's office has been asked by residents to conduct extra patrols along Coyne Station and other roads near some schools in the county.
