Police: Woodstock Man's Death Deemed 'Suspicious'

WOODSTOCK, Ill. (STMW) -- Police are conducting a death investigation after a male was found dead due to "suspicious circumstances" Saturday in northwest suburban Woodstock.

Officers responded at 4:37 p.m. to the 1900 block of Sheila Street to a report of a nonresponsive male, Woodstock police said.

Responding officers found the male dead, Woodstock police said.

The circumstances surrounding his death were found to be suspicious, Woodstock police said.

The victim has been identified as Mark A. Medina, 34, of Woodstock, according to the McHenry County Coroner's office.

An autopsy Sunday determined Medina died from multiple stab and incised wounds on his chest and upper body, according to the coroner's office.

The McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team are assisting the Woodstock police with the investigation.
