Woman Found Slain In South Side Apartment
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 24-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her apartment Monday night in the South Side Douglas neighborhood.
April Dixon was found dead with multiple stab wounds about 7:10 p.m. inside her apartment in the 3500 block of South Rhodes Avenue, authorities said.
Dixon's family became concerned when she didn't show up for a famiy function and contacted maintenance workers at the building, police said. They went into the apartment with a master key and discovered her body.
An autopsy Tuesday found she died of multiple stab wounds, and her death was ruled a homicide, the medical examiner's office said.
Area Central detectives were investigating the death as a homicide, police said. No one was in custody as of early Tuesday afternoon.
