"We're working and encouraging people to get their flu shots across out state and particularly this program where if you get a shot for your own flu vaccine Walgreens is working with the United Nations on a great program to give vaccines to developing countries where children in particular need vaccines against polio and against measles," said Quinn.

Dr. LaMar Hasbrouck, the Illinois Director of Public Health, says vaccinations are important in fighting the flu, but if you do get the flu, he has other advice.

"Keep your germs to yourself until you get better, then get back to school, then get back to work," said Hasbrouck.
