Man Hospitalized After Fire In Andersonville

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was hospitalized for smoke inhalation after an Andersonville fire Monday morning on the North Side.

Emergency crews were called to the fire in a two-flat building in the 1600 block of West Foster Avenue about 1:53 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

A first-floor resident--a man believed to be in his 30s--was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital in fair-to-serious condition to be treated for smoke inhalation, Gaines and Fire Media Affairs said.

The police Bomb and Arson Unit is investigating the fire.
