CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 32-year-old man was seriously wounded when he was shot twice -- including once in the mouth -- early Tuesday in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, police said.

The man was in the 2100 block of North Narragansett Avenue when he was shot about 2:45 a.m., said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

In addition to being shot in the side of the mouth, the 32-year-old was also shot once in the shoulder, police said.

Police said he was taken in serious condition to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.
