Manny Acta On Cubs Interview: 'Let The Process Play Out'

(CBS) Former Indians manager Manny Acta reportedly interviewed for the Cubs managerial position Monday.

Acta, who sat out the 2013 season, said his meeting with the Cubs' brass was "pleasant."

''Yes, I came in and spent a few pleasant hours with Theo (Epstein), Jed (Hoyer) and Randy Bush," Acta told the Tribune. ''Basically getting to know each other on a personal and professional level.

''I'm sure they have more people to talk to ... so we'll just let the process play out.''

The 44-year-old Act was fired from the Indians after the 2012 season.

The Cubs are reportedly also interested in Yankees manager Joe Girardi, Padres assistant GM A.J. Hinch and Padres bench coach Rick Renteria.
