Adrian Peterson's Son Has Died
(CBS) The 2-year-old son of Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has died after being beaten by his mother's boyfriend.
Sioux Falls Police Department confirmed the boy died in a news release sent out Friday afternoon.
Joseph Robert Patterson, 27, has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery on an infant after abusing the child Wednesday evening. More charges appear to be coming.
Peterson addressed the media on the situation Friday morning.
"I will be playing Sunday, without a doubt," Peterson said. "I really appreciate all the support that I've been receiving from fans and the Vikings organization. This is a private matter and I would ask you all to please just respect my privacy and not ask at all about the situation at hand."
