Woman In Custody For Stabbing Boyfriend In South Shore

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are talking to a "person of interest" in connection with a stabbing that seriously wounded a man Sunday night in the South Shore neighborhood.

The attack happened about 10:50 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Kimbark Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The man, 25, was stabbed in the chest and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, Greer said.

Police have a 29-year-old "person of interest" in custody Monday morning. Police said previously the man was stabbed by his girlfriend.

Area South detectives are investigating.
