No Elections In Illinois This Fall

(CBS) -- Will County Clerk Nancy Schultz Vootz says every off election year she gets hundreds of calls about why the polls are closed.

No Elections In Illinois This Fall

"Illinois doesn't have a fall election this year. I don't want voters to show up at their polling places and be inconvenienced," said Vootz.

But many calendars show Tuesday, November 5th as election day. Vootz says that may be the case in several other states but it's an off year in Illinois.

"Some calendars have listed November 5 as Election Day and I want to make sure there is no confusion."

The next election will be the General Primary Election on March 18, 2014. The last day to register to vote for that election will be February 18.
