Bond Denied For Oak Park Man Charged With Murder

(STMW) -- Bond was denied Saturday for an Oak Park man charged Friday with first-degree murder after the death Wednesday of a man shot in the West Side Austin neighborhood in June.

Craig Bryan, 23, allegedly followed Keith Sutton, who was walking through a park in the 5700 block of West Bloomingdale Avenue about 10:15 a.m. June 2 and shot him once in the head and once in the back, police said.

Sutton, 24, of the 1700 block of North Monitor Avenue, died in hospice care at Westlake Community Hospital at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

Bryan, of the 400 block of West Washington in Oak Park, was initially charged with aggravated battery but charges were upgraded after Sutton's death, police said.
