Teen Boy Shot In Uptown

(STMW) -- A 17-year-old boy was shot in the Uptown neighborhood Friday night.

Police said the boy was riding a bike east in the 1100 block of West Wilson Avenue when a shooter got out of a car and opened fire about 7:15 p.m.

The boy was shot in the knee and taken in good condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.

The gunman fled on foot, police said.

No one was in custody as Area North detectives investigated.
