(CBS) — An overnight fire in a three-story apartment building on Lynn Road in unincorporated DuPage County has displaced 24 families.
The call for help came in around 2 a.m. Saturday and it was soon escalated to a special alarm fire, with more than 60 firefighters from around DuPage County working to get things under control.
Firefighters say once they got into the job they were forced to work their way around low water supply.
CBS 2 has been told everyone made it out safely with no injuries.
“The fire was contained by the fire wall so it is only the north half of the building, those six units that have been affected, although they have been heavily affected by fire, smoke, water,” said Lt. Craig Eldridge of the Glen Ellyn Fire Department.
The Red Cross is now helping those 24 families displaced by this fire.
