Man Killed In Auburn Gresham Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot to death Saturday night in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the Far South Side.
Fredrick Ollie, 39, of the 8900 block of South Union Avenue, was fatally shot while standing on the sidewalk about 6:20 p.m. in the 600 block of West 89th Street, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
He was shot in the back of the head after a group of males approached him and one of the males pulled out a gun and opened fire, police said.
Ollie was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead at 7:11 p.m.,according to the medical examiner's office.
No one was in custody as Area South detectives investigated.
