Police: Person Dead After SW Side Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) –A male is dead after a car struck a pole Sunday morning on the Southwest Side, police said.

The crash happened about 6 a.m. in the 6700 block of South Cicero Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the death but would not release identification of the victim pending family notification.

The Chicago Fire Department could not provide details Sunday.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
