Man Fatally Shot In West Englewood

CHICAGO (STMW) -- An 18-year-old man was shot to death on a West Englewood sidewalk Saturday evening.

Antonio Cooper was found on the sidewalk in the 6300 block of South Hermitage Avenue with gunshot wounds to his the chest and backside about 6:40 p.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police said they recovered narcotics from the scene and suspect the man's slaying may have been drug related.

Cooper, of the 1700 block of West 64th Street, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead 7:23 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No arrests have been made. Area South detectives are investigating.
