CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three men have been killed and at least eight other people were wounded in shootings across the city since Friday night.

Jason Jernigan, 27, died Saturday night after he was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in a vacant lot in the Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, authorities said.

He was shot in the chest and abdomen about 10:50 p.m. in the 3300 block of West Van Buren Street and was pronounced dead on the scene a few minutes later, police said.

Earlier Saturday night, a man died after he was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

Antonio Cooper, 18, was found on the sidewalk about 6:40 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Hermitage Avenue with gunshot wounds to his chest and backside, authorities said.

Cooper, of the 1700 block of West 64th Street, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:23 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police said they recovered narcotics from the scene and suspect the man's slaying may have been drug-related.

Another man was found shot to death in a Garfield Park alleyway Saturday morning on the West Side.

Luis Villasenor, 27, was found lying in an alley near the 4200 block of West West End Avenue about 5:25 a.m., police said.

Villasenor, of the 500 block of West 43rd Street, was not able to say how or who shot him before he died, police said.

Eight other people have been wounded in shootings since Friday night. No one is in custody for any of the shootings early Sunday as area detectives investigate.
