Aurora Man Gets 8 Years For Sex Assault Of Child
ST. CHARLES, Ill. (STMW) -- A 37-year-old Aurora man will spend eight years in prison after pleading guilty Friday to the sexual assault of a child in his care.
Prosecutors said Alejandro Guerrero, 600 block of Jungels Avenue, sexually assaulted a child under the age of 17 in 2012, while he was a caregiver for the child, the Aurora Beacon-News is reporting. The child's mother allegedly witnessed the act between Guerrero and her child, and called police.
The case was investigated by Aurora police, and the Kane County Child Advocacy Center. Guerrero was eventually charged, and pleaded guilty to one count of criminal sexual assault in exchange for an eight-year sentence.
Guerrero must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence, and was given credit for 599 days served at the Kane County Jail, prosecutors said.
