Bulls Hold Rose Out Of Practice

(CBS) Derrick Rose did not participate in the Bulls' two-hour practice Wednesday at the Berto Center.

The point guard remains day-to-day with an injured right hamstring.

Rose, in his first season back after undergoing ACL surgery, underwent treatment for the second straight day.

"He did rehab work so we'll see where he is (Thursday),"  head coach Tom Thibodeau said. "If he can play, he'll play. If he can't, he'll sit. We're taking it day-by-day."

Rose suffered the injury during Monday's game and hopes to be back by the team's contest Friday night in Toronto.

The Bulls also play Saturday at home against the Pacers, marking the team's first set of back-to-back games this season.

"Sometimes the schedule is going against you and sometimes it's in your favor," Thibodeau said. "I think the fact we have three days between games, which is a little unusual, is good. You want to maximize getting work and rest in and preparing. It was an opportunity for us to get some extra practice in, which we did. Derrick needed rest so it was good for him."
