Deputy's Foot Injured When Gun Accidentally Fires
(STMW) -- A Cook County Sheriff's deputy injured his foot Thursday afternoon when his weapon accidentally discharged in a Southwest Side building.
The officer's weapon "accidentally discharged" a few minutes after 3 p.m. in a county administration building at 3026 S. California Ave., sheriff's office spokesman Ben Breit said.
The officer suffered a "minor injury" to his foot and was taken to a hospital as a precaution, Breit said.
The incident is under investigation, Breit said
