Reward Offered For Escaped Convict
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Federal agents are offering a reward for information on a fugitive after an embarrassing breakdown in a federal courthouse.
Ignacio Torres, a convicted drug dealer who was awaiting sentencing, simply walked out and disappeared.
The U.S. Marshal is offering a $3,000 reward for information about Torres.
He pleaded guilty in June on several drug charges, but was awaiting sentencing next month.
On Tuesday, the 32-year-old walked out of court in Chicago--after a judge ordered him jailed for allegedly threatening to kill a witness in a case.
The U.S. Attorney's Office said there was confusion about when and how Torres was to report to the U.S. Marshal.
