Gurnee Police Investigating Fatal Hit-And-Run

GURNEE Ill. (CBS) -- Gurnee Police are investigating an apparent hit-and-run that left one man killed and a dog injured Saturday morning.

Police received a report of a man down in the street near the southbound entrance ramp from Washington Street to Route 41 at 3:44 a.m.

The officers arrived and found a man unresponsive and lying next to an injured dog. Gurnee Firemedics attending the victim could not find any signs of life.

Police believe the victim was struck by a vehicle between 3:30 and 3:44 a.m.

Police identified the victim has Timothy Fleming, 31, of Gurnee. Police believe that Fleming was chasing his dog when he was hit.
