(CBS) The Blackhawks have signed forward Ryan Hartman, their first-round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft, to a three-year deal.
Hartman, a West Dundee, Il., native, has posted 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) in 20 games this season with the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League. He leads the Whalers in points, while ranking second in goals and sharing third in assists.
The 19-year-old has tallied 81 points (33 goals and 48 assists) in 76 career games with Plymouth.
He won a gold medal with the U.S. team at the 2013 World Junior Championship, posting three points (two goals, one assist) in seven games.
