Veteran Linebacker Thomas Howard Killed In 100 MPH Car Crash
(CBS) NFL linebacker Thomas Howard, who was cut by the Falcons last week, was killed early Monday morning in a high-speed crash in Oakland.
According to police, Howard, 30, was driving over 100 mph when he lost control of his BMW and hit the back of a truck. He then swerved into oncoming traffic and hit two cars, killing another driver.
A second-round pick of the Raiders in 2006, Howard spent five seasons in Oakland.
He signed with Atlanta during Week 8 of this season, playing in two games before he was released last week.
