(CBS) The Bears have waived veteran long snapper Jeremy Cain and signed linebacker Lawrence Wilson to the practice squad.
Cain has started the last two games in place of Patrick Mannelly, who was out with an injured calf.
Wilson, 6-foot-1, 229 pounds, was selected by the Panthers in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He’s also spent time with the Titans and Saints, but has never appeared in a regular season game.
He spent the 2013 preseason with the Bears, recording five defensive tackles, including one tackle for a loss and two special teams stops.
