Sugar Grove Man Does Battle With Six-Point Buck -- Indoors

(CBS) – A Sugar Grove man came face to face inside his home with a full-sized, six-point buck. Then the drama really started.

CBS 2's Mike Parker reports.

The animal entered by crashing through a window. Bleeding, it quickly began running amok.

Keith Mohr came running naked from his shower and encountered the deer, first in his kitchen.

"I was screaming at him, 'Get out of my house, get out of my house!'" he says.

Mohr took photos of the blood and damage throughout the house. At one point, the deer tried to mount the kitchen sink to get to the window above. Mohr's wife locked herself in the bedroom and called 9-1-1.

"I was very fearful for him because all I Kept hearing was crashing glass," she says.

"Enormous damage," Keith Mohr says. "Every time he went around here he just bled or ripped something else down."

Finally Mohr, a golfer, used his trusty Callaway driver and broke it in the process.

"I just took my golf club and whacked him, and I knocked off his antler. It was my best club," he says, laughing.

After 10 minutes, Mohr opened a dining room window, and the deer took off.

The 71-year-old retiree cut his leg from all the glass but he'll be OK. And he'll have a great story to tell the grandkids on Thanksgiving.
