Man Charged In Fatal Shooting In Auburn Gresham

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man has been charged with the shooting death of a man in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the South Side more than two weeks ago.

Terrence Ghani, 20, of the 1400 block of West 80th Street, was charged with first degree murder and attempted first degree murder, both felonies, police said.

Ghani was identified as the gunman on Nov. 6 when Phillip Curtis, 21, was shot in the neck, arm and abdomen in the 8700 block of South Loomis Street about 4:30 p.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Curtis, of the 8600 block of South Marshfield Avenue, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died at 5:25 p.m. Nov. 6, according to the medical examiner's office.

Ghani is expected Sunday in bond court.
