Two Seriously Wounded In East Garfield Park Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two men were seriously wounded in a shooting early Monday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

A 30-year-old man was shot in the backside and right leg inside a vehicle in the 2900 block of West Jackson about 12:15 a.m., police said.

He was taken by the driver to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, police said.

Another man, 32, was found in the street at Sacramento and Adams with gunshot wounds to the chest, arm, and hand, police said.

He was taken by ambulance to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition early Monday.

Police believe the men were wounded in an exchange of gunfire.

A weapon was recovered after the shooting in the 2900 block of West Adams Street, police said.

No one is in custody.
