CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was hospitalized late Thursday after he flipped his vehicle and hit a tree while driving drunk on the South Side.

Cristian Salazar, 20, was cited for DUI, striking private property and driving with a revoked driver's license after crashing his vehicle in the 9800 block of South Van Vlissingen Road about 10:40 p.m. Thursday, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

Because he was driving with a revoked license, Salazar was charged with one felony count of aggravated DUI, Greer said.

He was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash and no one else was hurt, police said.

Salazar, of the 9600 block of South Avenue L, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition, police said.
