CHICAGO (STMW) – A man was shot and killed in the Englewood neighborhood Sunday afternoon on the South Side.

Demarco Lyons, 22, was walking on the sidewalk in the 300 block of West 60th Place about 2:45 p.m. when an unknown man approached him and shot him once in the chest, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The suspect fled the scene in a gray four-door vehicle, police said.

Lyons, of the 6000 block of South Princeton Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene, the medical examiner’s office said.

Police said Lyons was a parolee with gang affiliations.

Nobody is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
