Oak Brook Police Seek Two In Armed Robbery

OAK BROOK, Ill. (STMW) -- Police continue to search for two men who held up a jewelry store off Butterfield Road early Saturday evening in west suburban Oak Brook, the Pioneer Press is reporting.

Police said two men wearing black ski masks entered Helzberg Jewelers, 3031 Butterfield Road in the Oak Brook Promenade shopping center at 6:29 p.m.

One man displayed a gun while the other used a baseball bat to smash a jewelry case. The men grabbed jewelry from the case and then fled the on foot, going north on Butterfield Road, according to a news release from Oak Brook police.

One man was wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt, black jacket, blue jeans and tan boots. The other had a black hooded sweatshirt, black jacket, black jeans, black shoes and yellow gloves, police said.
