Memorial For Good Samaritan Killed After Wedding Set For Thursday

CHICAGO (CBS) — The memorial service has been set for Thursday for Riley Knight, the 49-year-old Crown Point man who was killed on his wedding night after he stopped to help a driver in trouble.

WBBM’s Steve Miller reports the memorial service will be at Great Oaks Banquets in Cedar Lake, Indiana.

That’s the same place where Knight’s wedding reception was on Saturday – hours before he was killed.

According to a blog set up by Riley Knight’s family, it’s the same place where Riley Knight had met his wife Nikki eight years ago.

A memorial fund has been set up for the couple’s four children.

Knight was a veteran, and his family says donations may also be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
