Woman Struck By Train In Austin

CHICAGO (STMW) — A woman was struck by a freight train Tuesday night in the Austin neighborhood.

The woman, 56, was found at approximately 10 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Narragansett Avenue, or near the Galewood Metra station, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

She was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood in critical condition, Greer said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
