Police: Man Shot And Killed In Gage Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man died after being shot multiple times early Thursday in the South Side Gage Park neighborhood, police said.

The man, 27, had just exited a vehicle in the 5300 block of South Talman Avenue when a gunman approached on foot and fired at him about 2:50 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said. He fled the scene on foot before collapsing in a nearby alley, where he was found by police, Greer said.

The man was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he later died, Greer said.

The shooting may have been gang-related, Greer said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
