MAYWOOD, Ill. (STMW) – Police and fire officials responded to a residential fire in west suburban Maywood early Monday.

The blaze occurred in the 0-100 block of South 21st Street around 2 a.m., said Fire Chief Craig Bronaugh. The home was completely “destroyed,” Bronaugh added. Fire officials were on scene just past 5:30 a.m.

“There were no injuries and the home was abandoned,” Bronaugh said.

The cause of the fire is unknown and the Maywood Fire Department is investigating.
